Imaginary Airship at Satyricon June 1st 2009

Yes You Are Ferocious, Aushua, Steel for Scenery, Kinch and Imaginary Airship will be taking over Satyricon on Monday June 1st. Imaginary Airship will be filming a live video at this show, so come out, bring all your friends, and hear some brand new material! Free swag will be given out as well to anyone who signs up on our email list. And, since it is on a Monday, the show will be starting early so as not to keep you all up too late.

Portland's own cure tribute band theXplodingboys are headed up north... to north portland, that is. theXplodingboys are pleased to announce a show at The Know with Forgeries and DJ Wednesday! tXb will be playing a stripped-down (ok, only one keyboard) show. the Forgeries, with members of Once in the Sun, Princess Ugly and and Faith and the Muse, will open the evening by slathering you with dark and danceable indie rock and post-punk goodness, and DJ Wednesday will fill in the blanks. be sure to dress warmly.

Deep Roots Music Project Fundraiser

Friday March 13th at Mississippi Pizza Pub (3552 N Mississippi Ave), 6pm, Free, 21+ Bar/All Ages w/Barons In Trees.

Special note: this show will be a benefit fundraiser for the Deep Roots Project! This innovative program at Roosevelt High School teaches creative writing skills in part by enlisting professional musicians to help students compose their own song lyrics and create cd's.

Through this process, this year the students are exploring the issue of civil rights, connecting their own experiences to the politics, music, writings, and film of the 1960's civil rights movement. As a culmination of their studies, the students will spend their spring break on a field trip to Selma, Alabama, to trace the footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each student must raise $800 for the trip...no small effort. All money collected at this show will go to the students and the program. Many of them will also be at the show and the songs they've written will either be performed live or at least be played from a cd.

Please come and help the kids out! Or at least get some pizza and enjoy the show. We also have several new songs that we can't wait to share with you all.

In the news: We are playing this coming Sunday march 8th at The Doug Fir here in Portland with our great friends from Omaha, NE Little Brazil and Ladyfinger (Saddle Creek). Both are amazing bands and both will melt your face so by the time you get to us you might not have a face left but that’s OK because we have been known to do a little skull humping with the power of Rock and Roll as our contraceptive. We need you to be there though; this is the trick, because it isn’t a show without y’all so we need your assistance please. These fellas have come a long way and we need to show them that Portland still knows how to rock it out.
